Since my (rescue) dog passed away last year I feel the need to fill a hole, and pet-sitting did exactly that. I want to make lives more exciting for all companion animals - by spending time with companion animals and forming new friendships with them, I try to enrich their lives by concentrating on making the most of every moment.
I've had dogs, cats, budgies, quales, rabbits and mice. I consider myself equally a cat and dog person.

Pet-sitting became a part of my life firstly through friends going on holidays, then word of mouth brought the dog's of acquaintances to me for regular walking and holiday stays. I then joined PetBacker and have had a wonderful experience so far.

PetBacker continues to connect me with great pets and pet parents.

update**

Please let me know if you would like me to bring my Ragdoll cat Mariah for cat-sitting stays. Many cats enjoy socialising and play too!
I have an holistic view so I'm very conscious of the dog/s' physical & mental health which includes receiving adequate affection, stimulation, relaxation, physiotherapy if required, exercise, positive behavioural training, and respecting a dog's instincts and natural pack behaviours.

Every walk is a building block and once our bond is strong enough, at regular intervals I like to take the dog on a fun adventure in celebration of our progress (if the pet-parent approves).

Some health problems are common in certain dog breeds, such as hip dysplasia in German Shepherds, for example. This is one way in which a companion like me can assist and improve the quality (as well as longevity) of life for your dog.

Sample Care Package - Holistic Adventures

- Daily walks to nearby dog park for 1.5 hours*
- Wednesday afternoon: a brief walk and then a car drive to a fantastic Vet in Narre Warren where for Assisted HydroTherapy - swimming with a life jacket to strengthen the muscles of the back, hips and legs. I run arround The pool holding on to a guiding leash which is clipped on to the life jacket..
- Thursday: a short, slow walk followed by a brush and a massage. *It is important to consider the physical condition of the dog so each activity only helps and never hinders by over-exerting.
- Every second Friday: following a 1.5 hour walk, we drive to an holistic vet (e.g. Bentleigh) for canine acupuncture, which has many benefits.

- Adventure drive & play options (requests are welcome):
e.g. 1
drive to off-,leash walk in a dog-friendly forest (e.g. Mount Waverley)
E.g. 2
Weekend catch-ups for dogs at the Carlton North dog park
E g. 3
Play, Socialise and Swim at designated Dog Beaches (e.g. Brighton). ️️
E.g 4.
Off-leash dog walking trails with park areas and rivers to wade in (E.g. Doncaster East & Colingwood/Abbotsford) ️?.

You need someone who is committed to knowing your dog and keeps comprehensive records on how your dog responds to various situations.

Walk tracking maps, photos, vIdeos and notes will be available to you after each booking. ️

Pet-parents can fulfill their adult commitments and come home to a dog who has had the majority of their needs met and is happy to relax with them.

What I enjoy the most is having repeat bookings - nothing makes me happier than an excited, familiar greeting from (wo)man's best friend when you come to the door. Seeing the change in the dogs over time when their confidence is increased, their social experiences continue to grow, their opportunities in activities expand and every walk is different and exciting is extremely fulfilling.

Summary.

Every dog needs to be walked. It's a natural instinct, and when this need is not met, your dog will act out in different ways. E.g. property destruction, digging, excessive barking, anxiety, depression and an inability to relax. Additionally, your companionship can be affected in several negative ways and overall, quality of life will be low and you won't experience the true potential of your dog's amazing personality.

I have an holistic view of canine care so I'm very conscious of the dog/s' physical & mental health which includes receiving adequate affection, stimulation, relaxation, exercise, positive behavioural training, and respecting a dog's instincts and natural pack behaviours.

Regular dog walking can come in different arrangements.

⭐ Pack Walks
For dogs who are passed puppy development with appropriate social skills and reliable recall, I walk groups of 4-7 on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays in Hawthorn. Picking up and dropping home is included (Hawthorn + surrounding suburbs: ~15 minute radius)

I would love more pack sessions. Please state your location and whether pack walks are suitable for Your Canine Companion

The more information you provide in your booking request, the more Productive our communication will be. For example:

Can you tell me more specifically where in Melbourne you're located?

Can your dog be walked off leash in groups?/is he/she socialised?

What's their name?
Do they enjoy car rides?

‍️Do they swim? ‍️

Do they fetch? ?‍️?‍️

Can they have treats (reward-based, for training purposes)? ?
Have you had a walker before?
How long do you want each walk to be? ⏳

Is this a one-time booking or do you plan on booking 2-3 or more per week?

Do you require pick-up and drop-off service or would you expecting the walk to be close to house?

Please tell me your expectations also

So happy to have found Aimee. She picked up my little buddy and delivered him safely to the next transport point. She gave him cuddles which must’ve reassured him ahead of his long trip. So thankful for her services.
