John and I are easy going, honest, reliable and fun loving. We love animals and wildlife and have travelled overseas quite extensively. Finding great house sitters for all our pets was a challenge but without them we wouldn't have had the opportunity to travel as much as we have without stress. Now our kids are grown, our pets have passed and we have sold up and become mobile house and pet sitters ...and love it!!
We feel that pets make a home and by staying with pets in their own home we can give them love, care and security ... and we get to enjoy the company and connection of pets while travelling and exploring new areas. It's "perfect" for us to travel on a budget and to be able to help other pet owners.
Skills and qualifications
We had Tibetan Spaniels, as well as a number of cats, snakes, lizards and rats over the years but our last fur baby passed away recently at 16 years of age.John also has had sugar gliders, fish, and we even had Wallabies for a while!
Other skills
John is an authority on reptiles and has an extensive website on herpetology that he maintains and helps identify species and answer questions about the care of reptiles in captivity. I have been a regular pet sitter for a Brisbane friend and the joy of that has helped lead me to pet-sitting full time.

The services that I offer.
We provide love and care for your pets in your home and we stick to your pet rules so there's no confusion or stress for your precious pets. We particularly love dogs and walk them twice a day usually. We care for your cats too - and any other animals required. We can feed horses but aren't experienced enough to ride them for you. We look after your home too, and make sure it's kept clean and gardens watered where necessary. Obviously we can also bring in the mail and put out the rubbish.
The charges for my service.
We don't ask much for overnight sitting. The benefit for us, is living rent and bill free. We just expect the house is clean on our arrival and we'll ensure it's the same (or better) when you come home. We do expect to have heating/ cooling available so we can stay comfortably - but we are always conscious of keeping your power bills to a minimum.We love to travel and where possible we drive to you. But if we fly to your location we would appreciate it if you allow us to use your car (we can cover insure costs).
The reason I enjoy being with pets.
Pets bring life and love to a house and make it a home! Connecting, cuddling and generally caring for pets is usually either calming, emotionally rewarding, or simply good fun.
My experiences and qualifications.
John has extensive experience with reptiles and is a well known authority in herpetology circles. He also ran a Fish pet store and helped animal rescue previously. We have both had dogs and cats ourselves throughout our life, as well as having less standard pets like Snakes, lizards, rats, wallabies, parrots etc. Rachel has been Petsitting for a while and enjoyed it so much we have decided to do it full time and enjoy the travel experience while we run our businesses more online
