After consulting with groomer, groomer did inform that if hair is badly tangled and matted, it has to be shaven fully. I informed the owner and owner ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREED that it will be shaven fully. The grooming took place 2 days before ginger went home. Groomer said that his hair is badly matted to skin and couldn’t even brush. Hence, have to shave in full = bald. The groomer was professional and did not make any cuts to ginger and there wasn’t bleeding at all. The next day, ginger start to feel itchiness all over and the eyes area, I did informed the owner immediately about his condition and I even gave an ecollar to ginger so he could stop scratching. On the day ginger went home, the situation wasn’t better as ginger was still scratching. Ginger was all healthy and fine until his hair was fully shaven. I asked the groomer and groomer said it was due to fungus and side effects after shaving. I could imagine that as owner claimed that he has never shower ginger before during 6 months or even brush his hair. Ginger is a Maltese, can you imagine how messy was the hair? Proof is in my moments. On the day, as ginger kept scratching, it rubs against the cone collar and it formed some abrasions on the bare skin. I did not want ginger to continue scratching the eyes. Hence I kept the ecollar on. Owner accused saying that I lie about the bleeding that the groomer made but why would I lie about such thing? I saw the whole grooming process and groomer was professional. Neither the groomer nor me hurt Ginger AT ALL. Upon researching online, I realised that dematting fur = fully shaven is a big thing. It can cause skin irritation, itchiness as side effects afterwards. If you own a poodle/ maltipoo kind of breeds, wouldn’t the owner know better than this? I admit it was my mistake for not researching about it prior before accepting the grooming request. Lycan my dog has never fully shaven before, hence I’m not really sure about fully shaven dogs. However, owner should understand his own dog better than I do and not point fingers at people. I have clear conscience and I did not do anything wrong or hurt ginger. I brought ginger to daily walks, cook chicken for him, bring to cafe etc and took care of him with all my heart. I did not expect things to turn out this way when owner kept asking me to send to grooming. I also did not lie about the bleeding part because there wasn’t any cuts made by groomer. It was all because the side effects and itchiness after fully shaving. Plus, it’s ginger first time sent to grooming after 6 months. I even requested to split vet bills as I felt really sad and i certainly did not wish this to happen. Wish owner could be more reasonable as this is two separate matters. Kindly do your research about your breed before accusing us or the groomer. Dematting fur is a big thing. All I did was to follow your instruction to send to grooming and I did not expect the side effects. All the proof are in my moments. As a owner, it’s not about pointing fingers when things gone wrong. It’s about solving the situation that is best for the dog and learning it. If you still think it’s our mistake, then I don’t think Ginger tangled hair will ever be solve, it will always be matted to skin and it’s suffering for dog. Lastly, I am really sorry that things turn out this way and I wish ginger speedy recovery.
