Back in Slovakia I have a dachshund and a cat. I feed them, bath them, trim them, train them (the cat is not into it very much haha), walk them and cuddle them as much as they like.
I respect your pet, give a lot of attention and time. They might even surprise you with new tricks.

My training methods
I use positive reinforcement - rewards depend on the dog (treats, toys, cuddles). I never use any kind of punishment. A lot of patience and building trust between me and the dog is key.

Basic understanding of your dog's needs and body language, handling problematic situations, tricks, obedience.
How long to expect results
The progress depends on the personality of the dog, age, breed, and the owner's commitment. Basic trick can be taught in a few minutes if the dog can pay attention. Reinforcement is necessary for lasting effect.
